modding Kickflip Quake goes Museum

KickflipMB

The Computerspielemuseum in Berlin opened its new permanent exhibition and Kickflip Quake is part of it! Last week I had a look myself, and despite all concerns, I didn’t feel any older than before. If you didn’t know, Quake1 is still being modded nowadays, and there are regular modding sessions happening over at Inside3D.

modding Snowreal coming along well

I’ve uploaded some screens from our multiplayer test yesterday. It was really good to play this in multiplayer and see what gameplay ideas work and what don’t. We had a blast pulling each other across the mountain with the viper and grappling hook!

modding Kickflip Quake on ModDB

quake03 In 11 days this mod is gonna be exactly 8 years old! I uploaded Kickflip Quake to the ModDB, and the news instantly made it to planetquake. I heard that with the improved netcode of the Darkplaces engine, this could work quite well online. I can’t recall if I’ve ever had a KFQ session against another human being…
If you haven’t played it yet, grab it off ModDB or if you’re too lazy to install Quake1 again, you can just watch the video!
